2021 Athens Fall Classic

Hosted by ABSC at UGA's Gabrielsen Natatorium

Meet Files

Schedule
  • Warm-up Assignments: All teams will have a 55 minute warm-up beginning at 2:30 pm on Saturday and 8:00 am on Sunday. Teams will control their lanes the entire time, so may rotate groups in and out and do starts as necessary. Warm-up assignments are posted here.

  • Modified Start Times: Due to smaller than anticipated numbers, we will only need to run one warm-up session. As such the meet will start 15 minutes earlier each day (i.e. 3:30 pm on Saturday and 9:00 am on Sunday).

  • Athens Half Marathon: The Athens Half Marathon will be taking place on Sunday the 23rd. Because the course runs past the Ramsey Center on River Road, access to the facility may be limited between 8:15 and 9:45 am. Those who are in the parking lots in time for Sunday morning warm-up (8:00 am) should have no difficulty entering the facility.

Logistics

  • Spectators will be allowed at this meet. UGA's policy is that masks are strongly encouraged within the facility. Given that nearly half of the meet participants are too young to receive a COVID vaccine, ABSC also encourages compliance with this measure.

  • There will be no seating for swimmers on the deck. The red bleachers will be reserved for athletes and spectators. All bags, coolers and equipment must be kept in the bleachers. Please respect the rules of the facility and remain in your designated areas.

  • Parking will be in the UGA East Campus Deck or Ramsey Center surface lot. Parking on both days of the meet is free.

Coaches

A Coaches' Meeting (if necessary) will be held prior to the start of the meet on Saturday.

UGA Swimming

The UGA Men's and Women's Teams will be swimming their SEC home opener against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday the 23rd at 11:00 am. All participants in the Fall Classic are invited to watch. After the meet, swimmers are reminded to remain in the bleachers until both teams have warmed down and cleared the deck.
