As always, swimmers and coaches were divided into two teams, a Red Team and Black Team, to race in an intra-squad battle for Bulldog supremacy. Every swimmer from every age group across the club was invited to attend the sprint spectacular, which followed a Medley relay, 1 race of each stroke, and Freestyle relay format.

Coach Marilyn Naughton and Coach Gabby Matthews headlined the Red Team coaching staff which lead their squad to a 4,189 to 3,411 victory of Coach Mike Radford, Coach Jonathan Foggin, and the black team. Red team swimmers received a red ABSC cap, and black team swimmers received a black cap.

The meet followed a traditional USA Swimming dual meet scoring format, with first place in an individual event garnering 20 points for the team, second place taking 17, third place taking 16 points and so on. The meet was scored through 16th place, which would net a team 1 point. Relays scored double points, so a winning relay was worth 40, a 2nd place relay 34, and so on.

Most importantly, it was a special night for our club to have our whole team together again! Almost 40 percent of our team swam their very first ABSC meet in the Ramsey Center last night, which is hard to believe but true!

ABSC also reinstated it's Big Dawg / Little Dawg pairings for the meet, where our older swimmers were able to meet and look out for some of the younger swimmers on the club. In most instances, because of our inability to have major team functions lately, the Big Dawgs and Little Dawgs met each other for the first time the night of the meet! Even so, they did a great job of bonding.

Congrats to all of our ABSC Swimmers on an awesome meet, and a great start to the 2021/2022 swim season. Go Dawgs!
