ABSC's Next Signing! Friedman Puts Pen to Paper

ABSC has it's fourth college signing of the 2022 cycle, with Senior Flex swimmer Jack Friedman pledging his next two years to South Georgia State College in Douglas.

Jack began swimming with ABSC about 5 years ago when he first joined our Stroke Clinic Series (which has now been rebranded to Dawgfit). After a couple seasons of clinics, and many years of summer league swimming with Commerce Rec department, Jack joined ABSC's Senior 2 group. Then when ABSC created the Senior Flex group in the fall of 2021, he transitioned to the new group for his Senior season.

Jack's signing with South Georgia State marks a couple of seconds for ABSC. The first "second", if you will, is that Jack is the second ABSC swimmer from Commerce summer league to sign and swim at the next level this year, following his longtime teammate Austin Ackerman who has committed to swim at Kaiser University University next fall.

The other second is members of the ABSC family who swam at South Georgia State! He follows in the footsteps of Coach Casey Hall who swam there for two years, before transitioning out of the water and onto the pool deck as a coach when she transferred to UGA to finish undergrad and grad school.

Jack always brings the energy to practice, and his funny and outgoing personality are certainly part of what has drawn interest from SGSC. He's been a big part of ABSC, Commerce High School, and Commerce summer league these past few years. This past summer, he placed top three in GRPA state in multiple events.

A true multi-sport athlete, Jack is a starting defensive player for the Commerce High soccer team this spring. We are very excited to see what Jack can accomplish in the sport of swimming when he commits fully to the sport at the collegiate level.

Congratulations to Jack!!! Go South Georgia State Hawks, and Go Dawgs!
