Foggin is Heading North! ABSC's 5th College Pledge this Cycle.

ABSC's very own Will Foggin - son of Associate Head Coach Jonathan Foggin - has given his pledge to St. Bonaventure University all the way up in the state of New York! St. Bonaventure sits in the Southwest corner of the state in a very scenic area. We're very excited for Will to swim there! On his Instagram page, Will had this to say about his commitment:

  • I am so excited to announce that I will be attending St. Bonaventure University to continue my academic and athletic career! I want to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for helping me along the way! Go Bonas!!!

Will is an extremely versatile swimmer who's best events may be the 500 freestyle and 400 IM, but he's competitive in all four strokes and could be used in any number of events for Bonaventure at the college level.

Will becomes the 5th ABSC swimmer in this 2022 cycle to commit or sign to swim at the next level, following teammates Austin Ackerman (Keiser), Olivia Dellatorre (UGA), Jack Friedman (South Georgia State), and Gavin Jones (Villanova).

Will was a graduate of Clarke Central High School here in Athens in 2021, however, given a myriad of reasons (most notably the fact that he graduated at 17 almost a full-year younger than most of his peers) Will took a gap year to continue training and exploring his college swimming options. In that time he's begun working with our Bulldog Swim School, becoming "Coach Will" along with swimmer Will.

Will Swims in ABSC's Senior 1 group, but has been a part of the team for almost his whole life! He started swimming with ABSC at the age of five, and has also been a member of the Dolphins summer league team at Bishop Park.

In his time swimming for ABSC, Will has qualified for Senior State and Senior Sectionals while training in our Senior 1 group under Coaches Martin Grodzki, Adam Sasso, and Harvey Humphries. Will has been a part of a couple of different team record-breaking relays during his time at ABSC, and is a multi-time state and Divisionals finalist.

Will is also extremely accomplished at the GHSA High School swimming level. In 2021, he swam a 4:38.70 in the 500 freestyle, winning the state championship for Clarke Central for the 4A Division!

But most of all, Will's teammates will tell you that he is a great teammate and a great friend. He provides leadership for ABSC, particularly to the younger swimmers who look up to him. He's one of the swimmers most likely to lead the team cheer for ABSC at meets, and stand behind the block cheering for his teammates as they swim. Congrats Will, we are very proud of you!

Go Dawgs!
