Olivia Dellatorre Staying Home, Signs with UGA Swim & Dive

-- Oconee High School, November 15th, 2021.

For the 2nd time in the last two weeks, ABSC has seen one of it's Senior 1 athletes sign to swim at the next level. This time, senior Olivia Dellatorre has signed on the dotted line with UGA Swim & Dive, continuing a great tradition of ABSC swimmers to stay home and remain a Dawg after growing up as Dawgs.

Olivia committed to UGA back in January of 2021, and made her verbal commitment official this week at her signing day at Oconee County High School. At the time of her commitment, an article was written about Olivia in Swimming World Magazine, which you can find here: https://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/news/georgia-4-5a-state-champion-olivia-della-torre-stays-local-with-2022-verbal-to-uga/

About her commitment to UGA, Olivia had this to say back in January: “I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Georgia! I would like to take my coaches, family, & friends! Go dawgs!!!”

Olivia is one of the most decorated swimmers in the history of ABSC. On the USA Swimming side, she is Georgia Swimming state champion in multiple events, is a Eastern Sectionals finalist for several different events, and is a Junior Nationals qualifier. On the high school swimming side, she has already won 5 individual state championships in GHSA 3A competition.

Olivia is a long-time ABSC swimmer being from Watkinsville, and has grown up in our ABSC program. She swam for the Pups under Haley Allen, the Superpups under Mike Radford, the Dawgs under Jonathan Foggin and the Senior 1 group under Harvey Humphries, Martin Grodzki, and now Coach Adam Sasso. We are so proud of you Olivia, and all you've accomplished.

Olivia is the first ABSC pledge to UGA for the 2022 class, but she follows last year's 2021 class which saw ABSC put a three swimmers on the UGA Roster and 10 swimmers on college rosters across the US. Her older sister, Danielle Dellatorre, is also an ABSC legacy who swims for UGA. Olivia is the 2nd Dawg to sign in this 2022 class, following Gavin Jones who committed to Villanova University last week.

Go ABSC, and go Georgia Bulldogs!
