Rogan Wows at Masters Nationals

At ABSC, even our adult-aged swimmers are up to the task of performing at the highest levels! That fact was clearly on display a couple of weeks ago when Pam Rogan, member of ABSC's "Classic City Masters" group swam at Masters Nationals in Greensboro, NC.

In 18 & older "Masters" swimming, swimmers compete in their respective age groups just like the kids do! Pam, competing for Team Georgia (GAJA), placed in the top three in every event in her age group, including first place overall in both the 400 IM and the 100 freestyle!

In Georgia, a few of the larger clubs like Dynamo or Swim Atlanta have their own Masters teams. Since ABSC's Masters group is a little smaller, we actually register as a "Training Group" within a larger registered team called "Team Georgia", which is the team Rogan represented at Nationals. Our training group, Classic City Masters, are our home town ABSC masters swimmers like Pam.

Along with her wins in the 400 IM (5:18.60) and 100 Free (58.15), Pam also placed second in the 500 and 100 IM, and third in the 50 free.

Pam is a former ABSC parent, with two daughters who graduated from ABSC and went on to swim for UNC Asheville (Skylar and Madison), and a third daughter (Neely) who is no longer a swimmer but competes competitively in Shotput and Discuss now at Core Blend out in Oconee.

Congrats to you, Pam, and way to represent our club! Parents - if you want to be a Masters swimmer (meets optional) feel free to join up today and come join the fun.

Go Dawgs, and Go Pam!
